Position Technical Writer
When Ruben Lam was looking for a position technical writer, he didn’t realize that his educational background was required for him to get through the work. He was under the impression that technical writing is just like any kind of writing, but he was wrong. Nonetheless, he had an impressive educational background, possessed an Honours Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Arts in English.
In order to get a position technical writer, it is usually required by companies for candidates to possess college or university degrees, most likely an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in whatever field they are writing about. However, those possessing a liberal arts degree can fare just as well, if they are knowledgeable and well informed about what technical topics they are writing about.
Ruben found his position technical writer on a job search site on the internet, and immediately applied. He had been looking for a technical writing job for several months, and had applied to a few of them but was never able to secure a position technical writer.
This company was different. It was a fresh startup in Silicon Valley that created software programs for e-mail and network management for large companies. The position technical writer required someone that was very familiar with internet and network technologies, and had the ability to convey methodologies, procedures and instructions in an easy to understand manner.
A few weeks after applying for the position technical writer, Ruben was excited to discover that he had made it for an interview. All of those years of preparation and research did pay off, but now he was ready to take on new challenges!
